A few stumbles

I left mom very early this morning, around 4 AM. When I entered her room, there she was, hanging off the bed and trying to get out of bed alone! No go! I helped her back in before heading out.

Patsy took over full-time and took great care of mums today. She had mom's pain meds switched (thank goodness). Mom also had an ultrasound, which showed a healthily working portal vein (woot!). Her bilirubin count is a bit high, though, according to the surgeons. She'll have testing again tomorrow. We need that count to go down. No more surgery.

Otherwise, it sounds like mum is progressing along. We need a clear path, though. No more stumbles.

  2. We are all pulling for you!!!! Get lots of rest, don't try to rush this, you have had a very major surgery and the healing will take a little longer. If you try to pull yourself out of bed they may resort to hog tying you!! God bless and get lots of rest!!!

  4. Good Morning, Paulette --

Thursday dawns, with the sun shining bright, a slight breeze (by Kansas standards, that means a wind measuring less than 20 m.p.h.!) out of the west, and the birds putting together a concert just for you, Paulette ... yes, they have a Bose sound system that can bump up the volume to a million decibels for you to hear it in Rochester.

I am praying for you, dear lady ... praying that your bilirubin count will go down where it belongs and that you won't be trying to do acrobatic stunts bedside.

    Today's Joke:
A pharmacist arrives at the drugstore and finds a nervous-looking fellow bracing himself against the wall. "What's with that guy over there by the wall?" the pharmacist asks the checkout clerk.
"Oh. He came in this morning to get something for his cough. I couldn't find the cough syrup, so I gave him a bottle of laxative to drink."
"What!" the pharmacist exclaims. "You can't treat a cough with a bottle of laxative!"
"Of course you can! Look at him. He's terrified to cough!"

Encouraging Words from II Thessalonians 3:16 -- “Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways [under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes]. The Lord [be] with you, Paulette.”

Paulette, God is taking care of you today and in the days to come. You see, He cares about you and He takes care of you.

    Praying for you,
    Joyce
