Better

Mummy had a much better day yesterday and was in good spirits. I talked with her briefly this morning and she is still having sleeping troubles, but was hoping for another good day.

One day at a time. A very thoughtful and useful saying, if you ask me.

  1. Good Afternoon, dear Paulette --

What a blessing you are! God is working out His best in you, for you, and through you. He is making the medication effective and your body receptive. Your health is being restored; and just as restoration adds value to a house or car, you will have a stronger, healthier body than you've ever had before. Car restoration adds hundreds of dollars of value; house restoration adds thousands of dollars of value; Paulette's restoration -- priceless!!! [I think I borrowed that from a commercial.]

    Today's Joke:

Two boys were talking during recess. "I'm really worried," said the first boy. "My dad works long hours to pay for all the nice things I have. And when my mom comes home from work, she spends her time cooking and cleaning."

"Sounds okay to me," said his friend. "What are you worrying about?"

    "What if they escape?"

Encouraging Words in I Peter 1:2 -- “Paulette, God the Father chose you long ago and knew you would become His child. And the Holy Spirit has been at work in your heart, cleansing you with the blood of Jesus Christ and making you to please Him. May God bless you richly and grant you increasing freedom from all anxiety and fear.”

Paulette, rest up, eat something good, then eat something fun, watch something funny on television, and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

    Praying for you,
    Joyce

  2. AS I look back over the past four months,I can hardly believe what has happened. The range of emotions my wife, family, and I have gone through has been indescribable. The one thing that has been constant during this ordeal has been the thoughtfulness and caring of the people of this community. The posts on this blog have always uplifting and kind. The number of views on these pages exceeds 25000.The cards and letters are just as overwhelming.Friday when I got home there was a package on the front porch from a motel we stayed at a month ago.I thought it contained somethine we had left.It contained 4 lbs. of cards. This in addition to our daily stack of cards and letters. There have been so many people who have helped us. Thank you all.

  3. Dear Paulette,

I am thinking about you this afternoon and praying that you are resting and that your body is gaining strength as you recuperate at home. God is your Physician, and He is effectively working in you through His powerful Word. His promises apply to you, Paulette ... each and every one of them: He will never abandon you; He has a good plan for your life; He is able to do immeasurably more than all you can ask or even imagine; He is your refuge until these calamities are overpast; He is gathering every one of your tears in a bottle to be redeemed [are you too young (probably so) to remember getting Gold Bond stamps at grocery stores, filling up the books to turn into a redemption center for dishes or kitchen gadgets?]; the joy of the Lord is your strength; the waters (of circumstance) will not overpower you; after you have suffered a little while, He will make you stronger than ever before; He will replace the broken pieces of your hopes and dreams with His peace of mind that surpasses all human understanding; He is refining your faith and redefining your purpose and direction; He is working out for the details of your life for your good, for your growth, and for His glory; your name is etched on the palm of His hand; He will supply all of your needs; and He is faithful to the integrity of His Word.

    Today's Joke:

A computer tech support person enjoyed chatting with his customers while waiting for their computers to reboot. One call for computer assistance came from a long-haul truck driver.

"I'd love to drive a big rig," the tech said, "but I'd worry about falling asleep at the wheel."

"Here's a tip to stay awake," the 18-wheeler driver offered. "Put a $100 bill in your left hand and hold it out the window as you drive."

Encouraging Words in Proverbs 3:16-17 -- “With one hand she [Wisdom] gives long life, with the other she confers recognition. Her manner is beautiful, her life wonderfully complete.”

Paulette, God loves you, and so do I.

    Praying for you,
    Joyce
