  2. Good Afternoon, Paulette.

So you did the great fun moving thing? I bet you already have the place looking a lot like your own little humble abode with Paulette-isms here and there. I sent a little something late last week, so I'll trust that the South Broadway Minnesotans will forward it on to your new address. Those midwesterns are very good folksy people, so I am sure that you'll get "what's coming to you" (in a good sense, of course). Tee, hee.

Rain, rain, rain. Wow, the grass grew as fast it could this morning after its much-needed drink. Last night about 7:30 Steve said, yup, it's going to rain -- I can smell the rain, can you? No, I can't smell any rain. What does it smell like? Well, it smells like rain; it's definitely smelling like rain plus I see rain on the driveway! Duh, I could smell rain, too, if I were looking out at it as it came down!

Do we sometimes get tricked by the obvious because it's not expensive, it's not rare? Do we sometimes look for something so unique that we miss the beautifully obvious thing right in front of us? Perhaps so. God is in all of it all, of course. But as I get older (as opposed to old!), I see His hand more and more in the common things, such as the sound of a friend's voice, the wisdom of our daughter, the courage of our son, the affection of our husband, a prayer of a person whose name we don't even know ... and such as a spring evening rain that is easy to smell when your nose is on the same face that's looking out the window. All are reminders that we are not alone. Those common things bring us strength and peace and confidence.

    Today's Joke:
What's red and looks like a bucket? A red bucket.
What's blue and looks like a bucket? A red bucket in disguise!

Encouraging Words from Hebrews 4:16 -- "Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

Thinking about you and praying for you,
    Joyce

  8. Good Morning, Paulette,

Cool breezes, bright sunshine ... that's what is here in southwest Kansas -- hope that you have the same good start to your Thursday in southern Minnesota. God bless you as you continue to grow strong in your body and confident in your faith. God is taking care of you and all that concerns you, Paulette.

Today's Joke: I used to be a horse groom. They put me in the bridle suite where I tended to stirrup trouble!

Encouraging Words from Joel 3:16 -- "The Lord will be a refuge for Paulette."

You are in our thoughts and prayers every day.

    Caring about you,
    Joyce

  10. Paulette-
Today is the day before THE DAY! I hope you and Susie have had a wonderful week. I said a prayer this morning for safe travels for all your family. And I have been praying and will continue to pray for the very wise doctors and nurses. I thank God that we have great hospitals like the one you are at. Paulette, I am holding you very close to my heart. I am asking God to take the cancer away and give you back your health. And I believe He will do just that. I hope you can feel all the many arms that are holding you tight. You take care my friend and I will be anxiously awaiting news tomorrow.
I love you Paulette - Linda
