Monday, Schmonday

Mom was in good spirits when I talked to her last night after a long day of tests. She was hungry and tired! It's not fun to fast 5 nights of a week, but they are hopeful that she'll finish all of her testing this week and potentially start chemo as early as next week.

Tomorrow's the big day....

  1. Good Morning, Paulette.

Hey, there's something ironic about having to FAST when you'd prefer eating FAST food in a FAST way before the french fries get cold. There should be some hard and FAST rule that some things are just downright wrong (or is it upwrong right??). Hurry up, testing adventure, so Paulette can eat something delightfully tasty. She promises to eat it slowly, chewing however million times we're supposed to chew our bites.

I'm praying that today is a day of peace and hope and strength, a day in which your body is acing each and every test (A-'s aren't good enough!!), a day in which you feel God's love through the kindness of the people He is putting into your Tuesday agenda, a day in which you trust His wisdom and His plan. I care about you, Paulette.

Breathe in, breathe out. Hurry up and wait. Breathe in, breathe out. Stand up, sit down, bend over, twist this way, turn that way.
Breathe in, breathe out. Open wide, take a deep breath, blow out, look at the light on the far wall, name that tune (ooops!).

Tuesday is a good day, Paulette.

    Praying for you,
    Joyce

  4. You know, some do not want any "forwards"...maybe the ones that say if you do not send this to 2000 people in 3 seconds you will disintegrate...but some for no particular reason stay with you.
I think I liked this video one for the title:
    "GONNA GIT 'ER DONE"
A Texas rancher needed to move his prize steer in a hurry so he loaded the steer up in his convertible and whizzed down the highway with the animal standing up in the back seat.
Upon arriving at his destination he tips his stetson and the camera zooms in on the backseat filled with poop and the seats in shreds.
So the journey might have been messy but he got 'er DONE!
You have all probably seen the same forwards and I don't know if this one is true or not but I do know that there is a healing touch with events and memories shared with each other and that is why I feel these posts are so important.
This was about a mother with a 5 year-old son and expecting a new addition to the family.
The little boy made it a habit to sing almost daily to his anticipated baby sister but when she was born she was very ill and the Dr.'s put her in isolation on a ventilator.
The little boy wanted to visit his baby sister but only a few family members swathed in masks and gloves preventing the human touch were allowed.
After some time with the baby not responding the Dr.'s suggested removing the ventilator and without the fear of germs the little boy was allowed to see his baby sister and he walked right up and started singing the same song he had sung to her so often and to the amazement of all the baby responded.
    Keep on posting!!!

  5. Hi Paulette and Greg,

Testing Day Two is almost done for you. Hope the pokers are treating the pokee with as much care as possible and the pokee onlooker is making sure they do so. Greg, if in doubt, ask yourself "what would Esther do?" Then both of you can have a chuckle.

Wishing you another peaceful evening and plenty of rest for the 'morrow.

    Love and Hugs,
    Susie

  8. Paulette has been a trooper throughout all of the testing so far this week.We have been among the last to leave the clinic every night. This evening we toured the liver transplant unit.Twenty one of twenty four beds were full, and the enormity of what we are doing has begun to sink in.Sometimes courage is that little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow.paps
