A few days to let it soak in

Susie safely transitioned in for me on Saturday. Mom and I drove to Minneapolis to meet her at the airport and had a really nice lunch at a local diner before they went back to Rochester. I flew to NYC yesterday for a brief visit with old friends and old neighborhoods before a few days of work-related meetings.

It's kinda getting scary that the surgery is only days away. However, then I'm reminded of the confident surgeons and their discussions with us. I know this is the right thing.

The whole family is gathering in Rochester for the surgery. I'm flying back to Minneapolis late Thursday night. Thayne and Jennie will be flying in from Denver that night, too. My dad is flying to Minneapolis on Thursday morning. And, my hubzo, Matt, is flying in on Friday evening.

Keep us in your thoughts this week as mums rests up for her big day. Don't forget your yellow!

  1. Dear Paulette,

Oh, watch out, Rochester, here come Paulette and Susie, the Dynamic Duo out to paint the town yellow. They'll enjoy banana splits, they'll shop at Banana Republic, they'll have lemon-berry slushes [they do have Sonics in Rochester I hope!!] and put lemon slices in their iced tea, they'll speed up on the yellow lights (doesn't everyone?), and they'll laugh from morning till the sun goes down. Laughter releases those super duper endorphins ... save Nemo, don't you know, no, I think I got that mixed up with dolphins ... oh whatever! The Dynamic Duo will go down the big slide at the park, they'll have a late night pillow fight, they'll eat candy bars and drink diet soda pops ... and they will hug and share memories of their first meeting each other and their favorite times together and how much they love each other. Have a great week, you two.

Encouraging Words from II Timothy 1:12 --"For I know the One in Whom I trust, and I am sure that He is able to safely guard all that I have given Him until the day of His return."

Thoughts and prayers go from here to there from now to then. God will not disappoint your faith, Paulette.

    Caring about you,

  4. Paulette,
So glad to hear that the surgery is Friday and you will be on your way to great healing. I have been thinking a lot about you and hoping that all is going well. I had to go to Levelland to check on my mom after her surgery and ended up bringing her home with me for a week. We are enjoying each others company as I know you have been enjoying your time with Taryn. And what a blessing to have a daughter so talented to be able to keep us all up to date on your progress.

My prayers have already begun for you to have a successful surgery on Friday. I have a gift to get in the mail to you and hope it gives you the faith you need to continue on with this battle. Keep on gaining and enjoy each day as God is watching over you and we are all praying for a speedy recovery.
    Love to you all,
    Terri
