Another week of waiting

Mom's approval through the transplant board has been delayed a week. It's not terrible news though; the main surgeon requires another meeting with the main surgery team before proceeding to the board. Mom is still scheduled to start pre-transplant testing first thing Monday morning.

Mom has been able to enjoy the sunshine a bit. She's getting the alone-time to rest as she needs, so thank you all for respecting that. I know everyone wants a glimpse -- I do!

Missing you here in Denver, mum. The weather is great, but it'd be a lot better if you were with all of us here to enjoy it. We could go to City Park and have a picnic. Thayne and hubzo could eat fried chicken. Cole could sit like a nice dog with us. We could slather dad in sunscreen. Jennie and I could enjoy a bit of Pinot Grigio. You could get a real suntan instead of a fake one.

Tee hee.

  1. Good Morning, Paulette.

So ... the medical team huddled and made a decision to huddle up some more days and figure out the best grand-slam-home-run, three-pointer-at-the-buzzer, onside-kick-to-set-up-a-game-winning-touchdown-in-the-final-90-seconds-of-regulation-play, ace-duece-love [don't know tennis very well, do I], personal-best-record-making-high-jump for you, Paulette. In the meantime you're getting stronger and stronger as the transplant team prepares to put a big A-Okay by your name. And the beat goes on!! Delays are often used to replace something good with something better ... that's what I think, how about you?

    Today's Joke:
Two longtime bachelors were sitting and talking. Their conversation went from sports to cooking.
"I got a cookbook once," said the first, "but I could never do anything with it."
"Too many fancy recipes in it?" asked the second.
"You said it. Every recipe began the same way: 'Take a clean dish and ...'"

Encouraging Words from Psalm 59:9-10: O my strength, I watch for You; You, O God, are my fortress, my loving God. God will go before me.

    Have a good day, Paulette.

    With prayers,
    Joyce

  2. Good Morning Paulette and TEAM,

Joyce's sports analogy is a fabulous way to begin the day and get the rest of us fired up, cheering, and ready to plaaaaay ball.

We're at the ballpark, reserved seating behind home base, poised to watch the runners stomping that bag. The Chemo/Radiation Group is on 3rd tap dancing for that HOME RUN... the Surgeons are on 2nd prepared and standing ready... the Transplant Board is on 1st(next Wed!).... and *G O D* is on deck. It can only be a grand slam for the Yellow Team!

Be good to yourself, Paulette, and enjoy the day.

    Love,
    Susie
