Teeny little Thursday update

Talked to mums this morning and she sounded so much better than yesterday! She slept all night. She ate a big breakfast. The bile seems less (per Thayne). She looks better (per Thayne). No pancreatitis.

Now, if we can hold off this snow storm long enough to fly her back to Colorado...

  1. Paulette and Gang,
So glad to hear that you are doing better. Hope that continues as you make your way to Denver. I received the following in an email today and thought I would pass it on.

    When your hut's on fire

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, 'God! How could you do this to me?' Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! 'How did you know I was here?' asked the weary man of his rescuers. 'We saw your smoke signal,' they replied.

    The Moral of This Story:

It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God.

Hope you have safe travels tomorrow! Your in all of thoughts and prayers!! Eat lots and get your rest!! Aimee Gugelmeyer and the Gang

  4. Paulette, Greg and Family,
Great news about the accomplishments of the last couple days. Remember--God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. Find your strength in each new sunrise; find your comfort in our prayers; and find your light from the love of your children, husband, family and friends. Paulette, I keep you in my prayers. Get fat, get healthy, get well. Remember dark chocolate can help! Miss you much--Bonnie

  7. Hello Paulette, Greg and family. I just learned of this blog last night and have spent tonight reading about your ordeal. You have all proven what a strong, tight-knit family you are and with God's blessings you will fight this illness. There are soooo... many people praying for your strength, comfort, and healing - you are loved by many, many, many people including me. God is in control; you must give yourself to Him and He will provide. Prayers are with you for safe travels tomorrow to Denver and for the ability to eat, and eat, and eat some more(I wish someone would tell me to do that :-)) for strength and for a treatment plan. God Bless you, Paulette and know we are keeping you close in thought each day. Greg, take care of yourself and do ask if you need anything; your Ulysses family is here for you. Taryn and Thayne, thanks so much for this blog and keeping everyone informed about your mom. She is one very special lady!
Hope to see you soon! Tammi
