ERCP went well

Mums got new stents on both the right and left sides of her biliary system. She still has her external drain, but the bag has been dismounted. It will remain inside of her for another two weeks.

I spoke to a groggy, but hungry mummy a couple hours ago. She sounded good and had gobbled down lots of jello. Her doctor was very nice and took good care of her. I'd post the pic my dad texted me, but she'd kill me. :)

  1. Hi Paulette and family,
Just want you to know I am thinking about you and praying for you you to have the strength to fight off this nasty invader!

On a lighter note, I have this adorable little female black lab puppy lying at my feet tonight...Tom just couldn't resist adding to the family. We are still trying to come up with a name...any suggestions?

Take care, stay strong and know that we love you and your family and you are in our prayers.

    Love,
    Marieta

  2. Dear Paulette & Greg,

YEA, counting down to the removal of that external drain.... music to our ears! Wish you could rest all day tomorrow, but understand that the appts. are necessary to gain ground on a plan and return to home and family.

God hears the prayers of the multitude.

    Love,
    Susie

  3. Good Morning, Paulette and Greg.

This morning is the calm after the storm. Actually we didn't get any of the bad weather that was east of us last night, but I did "enjoy" the light show in the sky as I was buttoning down the hatches and trying to figure out what windows to open in order to get a draft (as opposed to a hurricane) going through the house to cool things down a little. The lightning was interesting; and as I prayed for you, God provided soft distant background music in the form of thunder choruses. Now I've opened most of our windows to let the cool morning air fill up the house; and with the refreshing whisper of the cool breeze, He is providing a choir of birds half chatting/half singing to reassure us once again that after the stormy skies, He provides cool refreshing musical wake-up alarms through nature.

Today we can lean on God and trust His wisdom as it comes through the options and decisions your medical team discusses with you today. Today is the beginning of the next phase of your journey to full restoration. The skies are clear, the pinks and golds of the eastern skyscape are trumpeting a new day of hope as the sun makes it usual beautiful debut -- no effort on our part, no fretting and worrying on our part ... it just happens as a matter of God's plan. God has a plan for you, Paulette, as well, a plan for your body to be healthy and whole, a plan for you and Greg to come back home and get back into the usual balance of work and play, a plan for you and your family circle to organize adventures of the fun kind. Keep looking all around: look back to how far you've run in the past several weeks, look ahead to the best that is yet to come, look all around at the crowds of people cheering you on and praying for you all, and look up to the God Who loves you and cares about all of the concerns of your heart.

    Today's Joke:
At a marriage seminar on communication, the presenter declared: "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other. For instance, gentlemen, can you name your wife's favorite flower?"
One attendee leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently, and whispered, "Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"

Engcouraging words from Isaiah 41:13 -- "I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Paulette, do not fear; I will help you."

New day, new possibilities, new hope. You are a much loved lady, Paulette. Breathe in, breathe out, and keep on keepin' on!

    Caring about you,
    Joyce

  7. Monday:
Along with all the many prayers, love and hugs winging your way I decided to add "imaging"...visualizing the crass little intruder shrinking away and releasing the vital hostages he/she had used for protection and now with the SWAT team surrounding him/her..he can either surrender peacefully or be yanked by his/her chiny-chin-chin.
    Tuesday:
All the prayers, love & good wishes from so many who care about you and your family are winging your way.
    So much for imaging.
    Wednesday:
Not the "sidepokes" we like but this one was also successful...getting there!
    Thursday:
You might not be in Kansas right now but the swirling winds that took you to the yellow brick road you have been traveling will subside and you will happily return from the wiles of the Wicked Witch.....
    Was the "Wiz" right?
Was Glinda really the bad witch??

Because it is not only necessary but "cool" I hope you cop some Mayo masks before you leave.
Lots more room on the plane.

  9. Greg and Paulette,
After reading Jon's comments, Garrison and I will be in U-town Saturday. I miss his steaks. I assume Taryn will not let us go because she probably has all the info on the swine flu down here in Texas. She knows her medical stuff. She is a great resource. Sounds like you had a good day. We think about you often. Good luck with your return travel.
    Take care,
    Bill #2
